Further to the fax you
sent through regarding RoHS, please find below our company statement on this
matter:
The products manufactured by
Sick AG are exempt from the directive due to the fact that they fall into
category 9 of the WEEE directive "Monitoring and Control Instruments". The scope
of the RoHS directive states:-
"Without prejudice to article 6, this directive (RoHS) shall apply to
electrical and electronic equipment falling under the categories 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
and 10 set out in annex 1A of Directive No. 2002/96/EC (WEEE directive)"
With reference to the WEEE directive the
statement from Sick AG is:-
" The
WEEE criteria are not valid to SICK Products because we are selling B2B
products. ( Business to business / no private households)"
